About Aion
Aion Technologies Inc. (formerly named Goldsun Computer & Communication CO., LTD.) was established in August 1994, by merging the IT departments from Taiwan Secom Co., Ltd. and TransAsia Airways. The company website is http://www.aiontech.com.tw, the number of employees was 120 in 2005, and in the latest year total sales amounted to NT$500 million.
Its development can be divided into three main phases:
Phase I: Becoming the Leading Force behind the Computerization of Taiwan Secom Group (1994 -1997)
- Jointly developed the“Airline Revenue Accounting System” with British Airways.
- Set up leased-line infrastructure for intranet (LAN & WAN) for Taiwan Secom Co., Ltd., Reach & Range Inc. (GCN), etc., across the island.
- Developed relevant application software for the fields of security, aviation, and negotiable securities for internal use within the enterprise group.
- Obtained a Class II Telecommunication business license issued by the MOTC (Ministry of Transportation and Communications).
Phase II: Creating a Diversified Business (1998-2001)
- Obtained formal approval for 15 T1/FT1 (Fractional T1) server rooms across the island.
- Developed an integrated ERP as well as m-Finance (mobile) and e-Finance (electronic) systems for internal use within the enterprise group.
- Made its first step towards diversified business by making an equity investment in Union Securities Investment Trust Co., Ltd.
- Introduced IBM WebSphere technologies to research and develop B2B application solutions and provide technology services as follows for businesses outside its enterprise group:︰
- Transformation of DataBase Migration: Oracle CONVERT DB2 (inclusive of Application) and Mainframe to Open system
- Electronic total solution
- PDA application integration
- IBM MQ message integration
- Provided GPS/GIS integrated service
- Awarded “The outstanding computer accounting software certificate” by the MOEA (Ministry of Economic Affairs.)
Phase III:Promoting Integrated Value-Added Technology (2002 – to present)
- Became an agent for Antek VOIP series products; expanded the Internet-phone market.
- Invested in MultiVision – a leading Asian manufacturer - in order to actively explore the market for medium-to-large scale surveillance systems in Asia-Pacific region.
- Became an agent for face, fingerprint, vein, etc. bio-recognition systems and provided integrated solutions
- Invested in DFsoft, ChinaCast, and HPC(ARMARDA) and expanded market reach into the fields of overseas software and two-way satellite communications platforms.
- Assisted Hsin Chu County and City governments with the planning and establishment of video monitoring DVR systems and wireless broadband internet application models.
- Signed a formal agent agreement with the American BEA Systems, provided BEA WebLogic series products and expertise services, and launched solutions for the financial and telecommunication industries.
- Implemented sales activities for products and integrated services such as remote video and audio surveillance and rapid access for video and audio digitalization.
- Developed the MiniBond mobile security emergency support system, which draws on the A-GPS location-based technology, using GPRS as the bridge for transmitting signals between the hand-held end and the monitoring center to provide clients with Location Query Service, Emergency SOS Service, Speed Dialing Service, Scheduled Notification Service, Dispatch Service, and Remote Protection Service, etc.
- Provided an array of application software for internal enterprise use, such as the external sales and consulting services on security information, aviation information, and general MIS information (e.g. finance and ERP). Each of the above mentioned software is applicable to transnational and cross-strait electric and mobile integrated software.
- Became an agent for BOSCH Easy Series home security system.
